Dear Readers,

Being an author, creating worlds to be read, is something both of us are thrilled to do. Each time we meet one of you at a bookstore, garden show or library, we are amazed at your questions and attention to detail. Talking to you about our characters and the things they do is a gift. We are able to see people we have created brought to life through your eyes.

Readers always ask; how much of you is in the book? That's easy to answer. All of us.

Everything we write comes from hours talking about the characters and how we want to see them change and grow. We have put so many places we've visited and things we've done into those pages. We've shared a small snippet of our lives with you as you read our books.

We're readers too. There are far more books, sci-fi, mystery, romance and others, in our home than there are manuscripts. Every writer seems to be a reader who just said, 'I can do that too' one day and began scribbling down their thoughts. In your heart, you're never quite sure if you can reach that place where so many of your author heroes live, but you know you have to try.

We started writing romance but quickly found mystery was as wonderful a genre to write as to read. Along the way, we've written some sci-fi and fantasy as well as nonfiction. We've also met many of you as we have gone from place to place and book to book. Thanks for coming out on those rainy days and nights when you could've been doing something else.

It's always a tossup where we'll be going next, but we hope you'll be there with us as we explore new characters and places. We look forward to talking with you about them!
