Dear Mystery Reader,

Spring greetings from the Great White North!  You know, of the awards my books have received, and there have been quite a few including an Agatha and an Edgar nom,  one that really thrills me is the 2005 Romantic Times Reviewers Choice nomination for Best Amateur Sleuth.  You see, after a long Maine winter it's a pleasure to be welcomed back to the world of romance.  I grew up on Regencies, and more than my fair share of Harlequins, let me tell you.  Roberta Gellis!  Marion Chesney! Suzanne Brockman!  Yes!

But whenever I picked up a pen and wrote a story myself, someone always ended up dead.  So crime fiction seemed rather natural.  Of course, many mystery fans now think my Clare Fergusson/ Russ van Alstyne novels are romances....I can't wait to see what YOU think!  That's why I'm so excited TRC is launching TMC.    My publicist says that my books are really "novels of love, faith and murder for  readers of literary suspense." Doesn't that sound just like a publicist?

What do YOU think?  Do let me know.

Yours,
Julia
