I hope you’ve all been having as wonderful a summer as I have. It seems I’ve spent most of it swearing it can’t get any better and then –it does!

In June I finished the revisions on my book for NEXT, a new imprint from the people at Harlequin. It’s aimed at grown-up women looking for the next thing in their lives, be it a man, a new job, travel, sisterhood. . . Who Makes Up These Rules, Anyway? comes out in February and I think it’s irresistible. It’s all about the trials and tribulations of a Long Island housewife who finds that all the balls she’s been juggling are suddenly pummeling her head and shoulders. And her family isn’t helping~ (Honestly, I can’t wait to share an excerpt with you, but it’s just too soon. I mean, would it be fair to whet your appetite 6 months before you can get your hands on the book?)

At the end of June I had lunch with my editor and agent and told them about my idea for another book and was given a tentative go ahead. Woohoo! I came back home and started writing like crazy. After the proposal was fleshed out, I sent it off and just last week I got the go ahead! Tentatively titled Out On a Whim, it’s the story of two people who have been married a little too long. It will also be a Next book , but no date has been set yet.

And after that I have this wonderful story about three sisters who are certain they just can’t be related. . .

In the meantime, because I want to give you something, I’ve posted a couple of articles on writing for those of you that are hoping to get published yourselves. I hope they’re helpful.
