But if you’re new to Vampire Babylon—a
fantasy-mystery-noir collection from Ace Books—welcome!
The first two books, NIGHT RISING and MIDNIGHT REIGN,
are on shelves, and the third, BREAK OF DAWN, is due out
in September. (There’ll also be a VB novella in a
Berkley Sensation in August’s FIRST BLOOD, so keep your
eye out for that, too!) Now, this series
isn’t structured like most: it’s told in trilogy arcs
that concentrate on one basic story. While each
individual novel focuses on a central mystery that’s
solved by the end, the three books together build
character and mythology arcs/mysteries until everything
culminates in the third book. After BREAK OF DAWN,
there’ll even be a second VB trilogy in 2009 that
furthers the adventures of Dawn Madison, vampire hunter,
and the Limpet and Associates team.
