Anna
DeStefano is a best selling author of
long contemporary romances for Harlequin
Superromance. She's a Romantic Times
Reviewers Choice Award winner, won
Cataromance.com's reviewers choice award for
the last two years, and has been a finallist
in such contests as the Maggie Award of
Excellence, the National Readers Choice
awards, the Holt Medallian, and the Book
Buyers Best Award.
Anna
graduated form Georgial Tech with Highest
Honors, worked in corporate IT for ten
years, and had finally settled into a career
as a Senior Tech Writer when her dream to
publish fiction refused to be ignored a
moment longer. She published five years
later, and is now working on her seventh
full-length novel.
One of her
favorite discoveries after publishing is the
excitement of travelling to speak with
others about the writing process and the
business of publishing. Her motivational
workshops on planning, drafting and revising
manuscripts attract standing room only
crowds wherever she speaks, including at the
2005 RWA National Conference, where her
workshops made the list of top 24
most-requested audio tracks. They're now
available for purchase through the RWA
website.
Anna's a busy
wife and mother, but as time allows she
still indulges in one of her other passions,
teaching and working with crisis care groups
that provide services to adults and children
recovering from grief and loss.
In 2007, Anna
embarks on a new journey, as president of
Georgia Romance Writers, where she's excited
to be able to serve the chapter that's
nurtured her, and to help other authors
achieve their writing dreams.
She's also an
avid tennis player (there's not as much time
for tennis any more, but she's determined to
keep at it), so keep an eye out on the clay
courts near you. You might just catch a
glimpse of her hitting a wicked overhead.
And she loves
to hear from readers and writers alike, so
drop her a letter or an email!
