Dear Santa

by Alice Orr

Harlequin Intrigue, #494 ISBN: 037322494X, Dec 1998

I LOVE CHRISTMAS STORIES! I'd write one every year if they'd let me.

I especially love Christmas Intrigues. Nothing sparks my imagination quite as much as the thought of good people in trouble at what is supposed to be the most carefree and joyous season.

My last Holiday Intrigue, PROTECT ME, LOVE, won the Kiss of Death Award as Best Long Contemporary Romantic Suspense of the year. My new Christmas Intrigue, DEAR SANTA, is even closer to my heart because this time the good people in terrible peril, while snowflakes fall and silver bells ring merrily, are children -- two children stranded and all but forgotten.

* Coyote and Sprite Bellaway are about as alone as an eleven and seven year old can be in the world. More than anything, they need a family. Right now, however, they need to be saved from some very bad characters who mean them nothing but harm.

*Katherine Fairchild and Vic Maltese are also alone. The selfless work they both do on behalf of poor children warms Katherine and Vic's wounded hearts but cannot heal them. She yearns for the child she lost. He is haunted by the father he was forced to leave.

*Then, these four lonely loves touch one another. Through the power of love - and because of Coyote's courage and Sprite's spirit - the hope of a new kind of family is born - a family of the heart that can stand and triumph against any danger any time of the year.

I hope you will enjoy reading DEAR SANTA as much as I enjoyed writing it. I leave you with the holiday wish which is the last line of this story, written straight from my heart to yours.

"Cherish the love you find in one another at this blessed time of the year, and forevermore."

Enjoy!

Alice
